nonsensicalrealities said: I think spiders are the only insects that don’t bother me that much - although I tend to get very jumpy when they get big. :) And it’s so ironic that what you wanted to do is so different from what you’re doing now! Big change of mind, uh?
Spiders are the only insects that bring out the worst in me. I can seriously kill any insect without cringing in the slightest, but spiders just make me shriek and call for help, haha. No, really, I woke my mom in the middle of the night to come and kill a sipder in my room. O_o
A big change of mind, indeed, although in retrospect, I think I was always meant to end up working with language for a living. As a child, I already loved to read stories and invent my own (I wrote a few very short stories as a kid), and I loved to learn new words and English at an early age. The cute budgies blinded me for a while, but when I started high school, I started writing for real, discovering my own way of shaping language and what I liked, so yes, it was always there, my love of writing and language, just not so obvious at first.

I don’t mean to sound arrogant or whatever, but it is SO hard to find good Loki fics on fanfiction.net. I mean, it really is. And now, I just stumbled upon two stories this afternoon that make me happy. I have already caught up with one, I am still reading the other one. That’s the one good thing about gloomy, crappy October weather - you are too lazy to do important stuff, so you get to do stuff you love doing, like reading fanfiction, yay!
Anyway, if you like fanfiction and you want to read Loki fics, here are two multi-chapter fics I recommed (so far, I am on the lookout for more):
Loki by thefireplanet: in which Loki is banished to Midgard (Earth) instead of Thor, stripped of his powers. (Loki/Jane)
Winter’s Heart by Peripety: (the author’s description) In the wake of a treaty, Prince Loki of Jotunheimr travels to Asgard for the first time, where he meets the woman warrior-in-training, Sif. The volatile and intense bond stuck between them will alter the relationship between the two realms forever. AU. (Loki/Sif)
This second fic involves a lot of wonderful research, so there’s Norse mythology galore in it. And, in this story, the Loki is blue. Pretty cool.
