Ooh, pretty! So glad you decided to post some of your writing for us here to read. I appreciate your desire to not be completely graphic and go into needless detail. On the contrary, this ‘smut’ (and I’d hardly call it as such. Smut, in my mind, is definitely more graphic and usually aims to arouse the reader, whereas I feel like that wasn’t quite your aim with this piece). No, this feels lovely and intimate and needy and your prose is great. I especially loved how you said, ‘liquefying his knees’ – I thought that was an excellent description. My only ‘critique’ is that I would try and stray from common clichés? ‘Milky white skin’ has always been something I’ve kind of wrinkled my nose at, right up there with using the adjective ‘creamy’ in the same context - but perhaps that’s just me. I love the word ‘pale’ instead, or ‘ivory’, because it always makes me think of white chandeliers or flower trellises, something decidedly feminine and yet ethereal all at once.

I hope you’ll post more of your writing in the future! This was lovely.

Thanks so much, girl!!! It feels great that you like it. Thanks for the critique, I don’t mind at all! I need that, thank you. The funny thing is, my original description was ‘alabaster’, and I replaced it with milky because I always use either alabaster, pale or ivory. Irony, and I wanted something new. Irony, lol. :D

I’ve been avoiding it for years, but a writer shouldn’t be afraid, so I faced my demons, or rather demon: a sex scene. And so I wrote a really short paragraph, from a man’s point of view because why the hell not. If you’re at all interested, read below the break. I can’t promise you quality, but at least I tried. (~~If you expected outright smut, sorry to disappoint you~~.)

Making love to her was like slowly sinking into dark water. It began with him losing all ability to see and breathe, skin tingling just at the sight of her. But at the bottom, she waited, and although every touch of her fingertips chipped at his strength, liquefying his knees and elbows until he was a shuddering, chaotic mess of need, her kisses breathed air into his lungs and returned colours to his eyes, and they were always brighter than ever before. Her small love bites, with which she etched herself into the carapace of his cheekbones, jaw, shoulders and chest, elicited weak gasps from his throat and he tried his best to pay her in kind, lips and tongue painting expressions of love onto the softness of her milky skin, worshipping every inch of her. As he melted into her, she accepted the invasion with a delighted groan, humming his name against his neck and he closed his eyes, phantasmagoric flashes of light exploding against his eyelids. He gloried in the feeling of coming undone at her hands, rolling himself over the edge with absolute abandon. If he died right then, he wouldn’t regret a thing and it didn’t worry him, or frighten him, that she could reduce him to such a blissful state that was positively careless. Her fingers carved uneven lines into his back and he liked to imagine that was her way of tearing him apart with her love. One more nip at his earlobe and he unravelled, a thunderstorm of pleasure surging through his veins. Profanities spilled from his tongue and she chuckled, proud of her accomplishment, a petite woman winning over a tall, strong man with such ease.

And he always let her.
